Lyrics

Hark! the voice of angels singing
On the midnight plain,
Joyful news the shepherds bringing,
Peace, good will to men.
Let us join the cheerful anthem
On this natal day—
Glory be to God in Heaven,
Peace on earth alway.

Refrain

Glory, glory be to God in Heaven!
Glory, glory to the Savior given!
Tidings gracious to the people bring;
For Jesus Christ is born the Lord and King!

See the guiding star ascending,
Brightest in the skies,
Leading to the holy manger,
Where the Savior lies.
Let us join the eager shepherds
And the wise men there,
Lay our treasures at His footstool,
Gifts of praise and prayer.

Refrain

Blest the day when tender Mary
Laid her infant down,
He of lowly birth, yet noble,
Heir of David’s crown.
Let all people and all ages
Celebrate His birth,
Shout, ye raptured hosts of Heaven!
Worship Him, O earth!
