Rosa von Tannenburg

Born: August 15, 1768, Dinkelsbühl, Germany.

Died: September 3, 1854, Augsburg, Germany, of cholera.

Buried: Originally in the cemetery for clerics of the Augsburg Cathedral. When the cemetery closed, the clerics’ coffins were transferred to the new cemetery of St. Michael’s on Hermannstraße in Augsburg. The site was heavily damaged in World War II, though, and the location of Schmid’s grave was lost. Today, St Michael’s Cemetery has a commemorative plaque in von Schmid’s honor.
