The child­ren are flow­ers from God’s home above;
The bright­est, best flow­ers—the gifts of His love.
We then bid you wel­come on this fes­tive day,
With smiles and glad voic­es, oh, praise Him for aye.


Welcome, wel­come,
Welcome glad Child­ren’s Day;
Welcome, wel­come,
We love thy re­turn alway.

The breath of the flow­ers falls sweet on the air;
It comes like the an­swer to true fer­vent pray­er.
The birds from the tree­tops now join in the song,
Then sing from your hearts and His prais­es pro­long.


The flow­ers, the birds and the child­ren we find,
Bear God’s lov­ing to­kens to all of man­kind.
Then wel­come, ye child­ren to God’s house to­day,
