Deep in the west now the sun is sink­ing low,

What have I done, O Lord, for Thee to­day?
Have I been faith­ful to Thee along my way?

Have I been will­ing my lit­tle cross to bear?
Have I been will­ing my bro­ther’s cross to share?
Have I re­vealed to those who walk with me
That I am walk­ing hand in hand, O Lord, with Thee?

Forgive me, Fa­ther, where I have failed to­day;
My eyes un­veil, Lord, and hear me while I pray;
And if for me the sun shall rise no more,
Receive me, Fa­ther, to Thy­self on yon­der shore.
