An infant in a manger,
And anthems in the sky;
On earth a benediction,
And praises from on high.
A glory falls on Judah,
A bright and wondrous light,
To draw the Jew and Gentile
From sorrow and night.
Refrain
The Infant in the manger,
As anthems fill the sky:
On earth a benediction,
And praises from on high.
A mighty prince and Savior,
Immanuel, our king;
A never failing kingdom
Of blessing will He bring.
A kingdom filled with mercy,
With righteousness and peace,
His kingdom, pow’r and glory
Shall ever increase.
Refrain
Glad dayspring down from Heaven,
Now break upon our night;
For morning bring us gladness,
For darkness give us light.
Begotten of the Highest,
Redeemer all divine;
The angels are Thy heralds,
The star is Thy sign.
Refrain
Preparèd is Thy pathway,
With blood and tears and pain;
Eternal is Thy glory,
Forever is Thy reign.
Our prophet, priest, and Savior,
Sing, angels in the sky;
The star is shining brightly:
Redemption is nigh.
