Lyrics

Would we patiently carry the burdens of life,
More trustfully bear its sorrow,
If but a day longer would end earthly strife,
If Jesus were coming tomorrow?

Refrain

Coming in glory to earth again,
Coming in majesty He shall reign;
Blessèd deliverance His people obtain,
When Jesus shall come—some tomorrow.

Would we cheerfully work in the Master’s good cause,
More faithfully tell the story,
Upholding the banner of Christ and His cross,
If Jesus were coming tomorrow?

Refrain

Would we turn from the trifles that lure us aside,
Our guidebook more closely follow,
And seek for the blessing that’s never denied,
If Jesus were coming tomorrow?

Refrain

Let us daily press onward with courage and cheer,
And hope from His promise borrow;
Be watching, and waiting for Him to appear,
Today, or it may be tomorrow.
