Buried: Green­wood Ce­me­te­ry, Chat­ta­noo­ga, Ten­nes­see.

Biography

Birdie was the daugh­ter of John Har­ris, wife of Ro­bert E. Win­sett, and mo­ther of Paul L. Win­sett.

In 1904, she was a pri­ma­ry school teach­er in Beu­lah (now Car­ter), Ok­la­ho­ma. She taught in the first Ho­ly Ghost school in Ok­la­ho­ma, named Beu­lah Home of Em­ma­nu­el’s Bi­ble School, Beu­lah Co­lo­ny, Ok­la­ho­ma, where  her fu­ture hus­band Ro­bert was the school’s mu­sic teach­er. The school was found­ed by mem­bers of the Ho­li­ness, Pen­te­cost­al, or As­sem­blies of God de­no­mi­na­tions.

In 1910, Birdie and Ro­bert were liv­ing in El Pa­so Coun­ty, Tex­as. As of 1920, they were in Ham­il­ton Coun­ty, Ten­nes­see.

Note: This au­thor is oft­en con­fused with C. Lou­ise Bell, who was al­so known as Bird­ie Bell.
