Biography

Jane was the daugh­ter of Wex­ford so­li­ci­tor Charles El­gee (1783–1824); wife of Dr. (lat­er Sir) Will­iam Wilde, a Dub­lin oc­u­list (mar­ried 1851); and mo­ther of au­thor Os­car Wilde.
