Stevenson’s musical career started as chorister, then vicar choral, at Christ Church and St. Patrick’s cathedrals. The University of Dublin gave him a doctorate degree in 1791, and he was knighted in 1803. In 1814, he became the castle chapel’s first organist and music director. His works include:
