Introduction

Biography

Carl was the son of Knut Knut­son Sol­berg and Aas­hild Hau­gen, and hus­band of Si­na Mar­guer­ite Var­land.

He was edu­cat­ed at St. Ol­af Col­lege, North­field, Min­ne­so­ta, and the Unit­ed Nor­we­gian Lu­ther­an se­mi­na­ry.

He was or­dained in 1900, and served at:

• Vermillion and Yank­ton, South Da­ko­ta
• Zion Ev­an­ge­li­cal Lu­ther­an Church, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois (1906–11)
• Bethlehem Church, Min­ne­ap­olis, Min­ne­so­ta (1911–18)
• Ma­di­son, South Da­kota; and St. Paul’s, Min­ne­apo­lis

From 1937–45, he was an ev­an­gel­ist for the Ev­an­ge­li­cal Lu­ther­an Church.
