Biography

Pember’s song Long Ago was Writ­ten for the De­di­ca­tion of the Boul­der in Me­mo­ry of the Found­ing of the Town of Wells, Ver­mont and ap­peared in a 1911 pub­li­ca­tion.

We spe­cu­late she is Ca­ro­lyn Win­chell Pem­ber (1846–1932), a po­et bur­ied in the Wells Town Ce­me­te­ry.
