Biography

Gerard was the fa­ther of Ca­rol­ine No­el and bro­ther of Bap­tist No­el. He mar­ried twice, to Char­lotte So­phia O’Bri­en (1806) and Su­san Ken­na­way (1841).

He was edu­cat­ed at Ed­in­burgh and Camb­ridge.

Taking Ho­ly Or­ders, he was suc­cess­ive­ly cur­ate of Rad­well, Hert­ford­shire; vi­car of Rain­ham and Rom­sey; and ca­non of Win­ches­ter Ca­thed­ral.
