Myers, a classicist and poet, was educated at Cheltenham College, Gloucestershire, and Tri­ni­ty Col­lege, Cam­bridge. He was a Fellow and College Lecturer at Trinity College (1865–69), Inspector of Schools (1862–1901), and a charter member of the Society for Psychical Research. His works in­clude:
