Biography

Merrill was the son of Will­iam Hutch­in­son and Mary Abbott, and hus­band of Mary Lou­ise Trask.

As of 1871, he was pas­tor of a Pres­by­te­ri­an church in Dun­el­len, New Jer­sey. In 1873, he re­signed his pas­tor­ate and moved to Mex­ico Ci­ty.

His son Ab­bott Trask Hutch­in­son was born in Me­xi­co Ci­ty, June 11, 1880. His daugh­ter Grace was born two years lat­er in New York Ci­ty.
