Biography

Son of a teach­er, Gas­to­ri­us be­came as­sist­ant can­tor to his fa­ther-in-law in Je­na in 1670, and suc­ceeded him as can­tor up­on his father-in-law’s death in 1677.

Gastorius was a friend of Sam­uel Ro­di­gast, but lit­tle else is known of him.
