Edward was the son of Charles Day Fuller. He married twice, to Edith Thompson and Jeannette R. Thompson.
Fuller was educated at the Monson Academy, Wilbraham, Massachusetts (1881–84), and the Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, Massachusetts.
He was ordained in Canaan, New Hampshire, September 11, 1887, and served as a pastor in Canaan until September 1889.
He held various subsequent pastorates, including ones in Stratford, New Hampshire; Coos, New Hampshire (1890–91); Salem, New Hampshire (1892); Gardner (1892–97); Barre, Vermont (1897–1903); and Manchester Center, Vermont (1908–11).
He also served as General Secretary for the Vermont Sunday School Association (1903–08), and the New Hampshire Sunday School Association (1911).
