Biography

James was the son of James Gil­bert Del­mar­ter and Su­san Re­bec­ca O’Dan­iels, and hus­band of Ada Moore (mar­ried 1889, Man­hat­tan, New York).

A min­is­ter, he taught mu­sic at the Moo­dy Bi­ble In­sti­tute, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois, and pro­duced at least two mu­sic edu­ca­tion books through his own pub­lish­ing com­pa­ny in 1909.

He was liv­ing in Pot­ta­wat­ta­mie Coun­ty, Io­wa, in 1900; Cook Coun­ty, Il­li­nois, in 1910; Los An­ge­les Coun­ty, Ca­li­for­nia, in 1920; and San­ta Cruz Coun­ty, Ca­li­for­nia, in 1930.
