Died: January 10, 1923, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.
William was the son of William Bambridge of Windsor, Berkshire, and grandson of George White Bambridge of Norwich, Norfolk.
He moved to England at age six. For a while, he was a chorister at St. George’s, Windsor. By age 10, he was playing the organ at Clewer.
He attended Oxford University (MusB 1872), and later moved to Marlborough and married Louisa Maria Coombs, also a professor of music, in September, 1885 (they had one son, also called William Samuel, born 1889).
Bambridge served as organist and choir master at Marlborough College (1864–1911).
