Lyrics

A wonderful promise God’s given,
What joy to the Christian it brings;
That all who are striving for Heaven
Find refuge under His wings.

Refrain

Under His wings abiding,
Under His wings I’m hiding;
He with His mercy covers my soul,
I’m hiding under His wings.

How often in dark nights of sorrow
My spirit to Him looks and sings,
Because I find hope for the morrow,
While resting under His wings.

Refrain

And when I have need of refreshing,
He leads me to life-giving springs;
And there I receive a great blessing,
While shielded under His wings.

Refrain

When, like all the ransomed immortals,
My soul to that city He brings,
I’ll find that those glorious portals
Are entered under His wings.
