Lyrics

A heavenly city is waiting above,
Prepared by our Savior’s own hand,
For all of God’s children who trust in His love
While traveling on to that land.

Refrain

Leave the darkness, dear sinner, why wait so long?
O trust in the Savior’s blest love,
And evermore dwell with the glorious throng
In that heavenly city above!

When we to that city shall cross o’er the tide,
And loved ones have welcomed us in,
With Jesus our Savior, we e’er shall abide,
Secure from all sorrow and sin.

Refrain

O yes, ’twill be glorious to gain that bright shore,
And live with our Savior up there,
To sing with the angels the sweet story o’er,
And all of Heav’n’s blessings to share.

Refrain

O sinner, now yield to the Savior and live,
For He is the Truth and the Way;
He’ll cleanse you from evil and freely forgive,
And you shall be happy each day!
