Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep Thy words. I entreated Thy favor with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to Thy Word.@Psalm 119:57–58

From The Psalter (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: United Presbyterian Board of Publication, 1912), number 328.

Carlisle Charles Lockhart, 1791 (🔊 pdf nwc).

Thou art my portion, Lord;
Thy words I ever heed;
With all my heart, Thy grace I seek,
Thy promises I plead.

I thought upon my ways,
Thy testimonies learned;
With earnest haste, and waiting not,
To Thy commands I turned.

While snares beset my path,
Thy law I keep in view;
At midnight I will give Thee praise
For all Thy judgments true.

All those who fear Thy name
Shall my companions be;
Thy mercy fills the earth, O Lord;
Thy statutes teach Thou me.
