Gladly our tongues we em­ploy;
Holiest ser­vice, lof­ti­est aim!

Jesus all the world must know:

Praying to Je­sus! low­ly we bow!

Jesus is wait­ing to bless.
Hear in Hea­ven Thy dwell­ing place:

Working for Je­sus! striv­ing to save
Children from sor­row and sin!
Helping the help­less! free­ing the slave!
Striving a hea­ven to win.
Aid us, bro­thers, sis­ters, all;

Jesus saves from sin and thrall;

Resting with Je­sus! la­bor is o’er!
Stilled are the rough waves of strife;
