Lyrics

The redeemed of the Lord shall return
To Zion with music and song;
And daily sweet lessons of mercy will learn,
As they journey the pathway along.

Refrain

With joy and with singing,
Thanksgiving and praise,
Their sweet voices ringing
In triumphant lays;
His mercy and goodness
Shall still be their song,
As homeward to Zion
They journey along.

The redeemed of the Lord shall return
From lands where, as captive, they sighed;
With love and devotion their spirits shall burn,
As they sing of the One crucified.

Refrain

The redeemed of the Lord shall return
With singing for Zion’s bright day;
Far, far on the hilltops their glad eyes discern,
And sorrow and fear flee away.
