The com­ing of the Lord, is quick­ly draw­ing near;
I now, His chos­en mes­sen­ger, this time­ly warn­ing bring:
My bu­si­ness here, most cer­tain­ly, is for my con­quer­ing king.

Obey the voice of mer­cy, and you shall safe­ly stand.

O Church of God, arise, pre­pare to meet your Lord;
Behold, I quick­ly come, thus sa­ith He in His word;
I, now, His chos­en mes­sen­ger this time­ly warn­ing give:
Prepare, pre­pare most care­ful­ly, your Bride­groom to re­ceive.

O, sin­ner, heed the mes­sage, it comes from Christ the Lord;
Repent! Rep­ent! Re­pent! Pre­pare to meet thy God!
Behold the cross, Mt. Cal­va­ry, His pierc­èd feet and hands!
And glad­ly, cheer­ful­ly ob­ey the Sav­ior’s kind com­mands.
