Scripture Verse

Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. Matthew 7:24–27

Lyrics

Are you building on the Rock of Ages?
Are you building on the sinking sand?
Are you building on a sure foundation?
Will your house the rain and tempests stand?

Refrain

Are you building, building on the Rock?
Are you building on the Rock of Ages?
When you answer judgment’s call,
Will your building stand or fall?
Are you building on the Rock of Ages?

Are you building for the life eternal?
Are you firmly set on Christ, the Rock?
Is your hope on solid ground abiding?
Can you stand the awful judgment shock?

Refrain

Are you building on the Rock of Ages?
Are you building for eternity?
Are you going to the home supernal?
With the angels then to ever be?

Refrain

Are you building for a home in Heaven?
Are you careful how you lay each stone?
Is your hope and faith in God unchanging?
Have you built your house on Christ alone?
