Lyrics

Oh comfort ye my people!
All sadness put away;
The bells from many a steeple
Ring in the Easter-day!

Refrain

Then praise Him, ye people,
Praise Him, ye people all;
Then praise Him, ye people,
All people great and small.

Today the lilies springing
From winter’s gloom and cold,
Sweet bells of Easter, ringing,
Tell the glad song of old.

Refrain

That Christ indeed is risen,
And all His saints shall rise,
Fair flowers from death’s cold prison
To bloom in paradise.
