Lyrics

Jesus is coming, tell the glad story;
Ring out the message, swell the refrain;
Coming with angels, coming in glory;
Coming on earth, then forever to reign:
Hope of the ages, and joy of the faithful,
Long by the prophets of Israel foretold,
Regal in splendor, transcendent in beauty,
King of the saints, and Judge of the world.

Jesus is coming, morning is breaking,
See o’er the hilltops gleams of the day;
Shadows are fleeing, nations are waking,
Armed for the conflict in battle array;
Onward to victory, Thou Prince of salvation,
Sound the last trumpet, re-echo the call;
Strike in Thy power, Thou stone of the mountain,
Kingdoms of earth, and rule overall.

Jesus is coming, judgment is nearing;
Hasten, dear sinner, do not delay;
Yield to Him now, then at His appearing,
You will escape from the wrath of that day;
List to His pleading in tones of compassion;
Look to Golgotha, for you there He died;
Streams of salvation abundant are flowing,
Fresh from His feet, His hands and His side.

If you reject Him, how will you meet Him?
Think of the price He paid on the tree;
Where for thy pardon He gave full ransom,
That you from bondage might ever be free;
Seek thro’ repentance the gateway to Eden;
Bring your transgressions, tho’ crimson they be;
He’ll not reject thee, He’s still interceding;
Take the free grace He offers to thee.
