Now the time is drawing near,
For the final trumpet’s sound;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
Living saints will be translated,
And the dead rise from the ground;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?

Refrain

Are you ready, are you ready?
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
Are you watching, are you waiting?
Are you ready, watching, waiting for the Lord?

You’re invited to the feast
Of the Bridegroom and the bride;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
You must give up all your folly,
All your fashion and your pride;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?

Refrain

Soon the judgment day will come,
With its final, awful doom;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
All the ones who slight God’s mercy
At the door will find no room;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?

Refrain

But ’twill be a golden day,
If we’re faithful to the end;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
Earthly sorrows passed forever,
And eternal life begun;
Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?
