Biography

According to Ju­li­an, the two hymns shown be­low, by one J. Young, ap­peared in the Am­er­ican Bap­tist Psal­mist of 1843.

In The Ev­an­ge­li­cal Hym­nal (Har­ris­burg, Penn­syl­van­ia: The Ev­an­ge­li­cal Pub­lish­ing House, 1921), the author of O for a Shout of Joy is al­so shown as J. Young, which the in­dex ex­pands to Rev. Ja­cob Young (1829–95). If cor­rect, Young was on­ly 14 years old when the Psal­mist was pub­lished.
