Biography

Wyrtzen said that while he was a trom­bon­ist in a dance or­ches­tra in the 1930s, he read the Bi­ble and de­cid­ed to de­di­cate his life to Christ.

He ev­en­tu­al­ly be­gan preach­ing on the ra­dio, and found­ed the Word of Life youth ral­lies, which were oft­en held in Ma­di­son Square Gar­den in New York Ci­ty.

He also found­ed the Word of Life Inn, Is­land Ranch and Bi­ble In­sti­tute at Schroon Lake, New York.
