Biography

Alice was the daugh­ter of pro­fess­or James Ro­bin­son Boise and Sar­ah Good­year, and wife of min­is­ter Na­than Eu­se­bi­us Wood (mar­ried 1873).

She was the first wo­man to gra­du­ate from Chi­ca­go Uni­ver­si­ty (AB 1872, MA 1875). She went on to teach Greek there, and was known as a po­et.
