Biography

Wood was one of the first com­pos­ers in Am­er­ica.

He was a drum­mer dur­ing the Am­er­ican Re­vo­lu­tion.

Works

He wrote War­ren in hon­or of Ge­ne­ral Jo­seph War­ren (1741–1775), who died in the Bat­tle of Bunk­er Hill.

He wrote A Hymn on Peace to com­mem­o­rate the Trea­ty of Par­is, which end­ed the Am­er­ican Re­vo­lution­a­ry War.
