Biography

William was the son of En­os W. Won­der and Jane Mill­er, and hus­band of Sar­ah Eli­za­beth Bea­man.

He stu­died at the In­di­ana Con­ser­va­tory of Mu­sic in Terre Haute, then for sev­er­al years taught voice and con­duct­ed mu­sic­al conven­tions.

He al­so pub­lished local news­pa­pers, was ac­tive in po­li­tics, and served as post­mas­ter of Whit­ing, Io­wa (1893–97).
