Biography

Emma was the daugh­ter of Uni­ta­ri­an min­is­ter Sam­uel Hart and his se­cond wife, Ly­dia Hins­dale.

She joined the Epis­co­pal de­nom­i­na­tion, and is re­mem­bered as a cham­pion of wo­men’s edu­ca­tion.
