Biography

Wiesenmeyer, a native of Helm­städt (Helm­stedt?), was from 1637–44, and prob­ab­ly some­what long­er, one of the mas­ters in the Grey­fri­ars Gym­na­si­um at Ber­lin.

He helped pre­pare the two hymn-books which his col­league at Ber­lin, Jo­hann Crü­ger, is­sued in 1640 and 1653. To these he con­trib­ut­ed a few re­casts of ear­li­er hymns.
