Wiberg was ed­u­cat­ed at Moo­dy Bi­ble In­sti­tute, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois; North Park Col­lege, Chicago; Wil­liam Jew­ell Col­lege, Lib­er­ty, Mis­sou­ri; North Park The­o­log­ic­al Sem­in­a­ry; Yale Di­vin­i­ty School, New Ha­ven, Con­nec­ti­cut; Un­ion The­o­log­ic­al Sem­in­ary, Ric­hmond, Vir­gin­ia; and the Un­i­ver­si­ty of Os­lo, Nor­way.

Ordained a Cov­en­ant min­is­ter in 1953, he served in Oak­land, Cal­i­for­nia; and at Had­dam Neck Cov­en­ant Church, Hamp­ton, Con­nec­ti­cut; Mis­sion Cov­en­ant Church, Prince­ton, Il­li­nois; First Cov­e­nant Church, Youngs­town, Ohio; North Park Cov­e­nant Church, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois; and Sa­lem Cov­e­nant Church, New Bright­on, Min­ne­so­ta.

He served on the Cov­e­nant Hym­nal Com­mis­sion (1967–73) and chaired the Com­mis­sion for the Re­vi­sion of the Book of Wors­hip (1973–80).
