Lucy was the on­ly daugh­ter of Or­lan­do, 2nd Bar­on and 1st Earl of Brad­ford. She mar­ried in 1810 to William Wolryche Whit­more of Dud­mas­ton, Shrop­shire, Eng­land. In 1824, she pub­lished Fam­i­ly Pray­ers for Eve­ry Day in the Week, con­tain­ing 14 orig­in­al hymns (se­cond edi­tion, 1827).
