Daughter of Ro­bert Fitz­ger­ald, Ada mar­ried Ri­chard Whid­ding­ton; their son Ri­chard lat­er be­came Ca­ven­dish Pro­fess­or of Phys­ics at Cam­bridge Un­i­ver­si­ty. Ada is thought to have been as­so­ci­at­ed with the Kes­wick Con­ven­tion.
