Biography

George was the son of Jo­seph Whelp­ton and Ma­ry Mar­shall, and hus­band of Ed­ith Kid­der.

He ap­par­ent­ly emi­grat­ed to Am­er­ica around 1870. By 1880, he was teach­ing mu­sic in Woos­ter, Ohio.

In 1900 and 1910, he was with his fa­mi­ly in Er­ie Coun­ty, Penn­syl­van­ia.
