Biography

Welch was edu­cat­ed at King’s Col­lege, Cam­bridge (BA 1882).

He served as Pro­vost of Tri­ni­ty Col­lege, To­ron­to, Ca­na­da (1894–99); rec­tor of St. James Ca­thed­ral, To­ron­to (1899–1909); Do­mes­tic Chap­lain to the Bi­shop of Dur­ham; vi­car of St. Bede’s, Gates­head; vi­car and Hon­or­a­ry Ca­non of Wake­field (1909–18); and rec­tor of South­church (1918–32).
