Biography

Frederic was the son of phy­si­cian Fred­er­ick Wea­ther­ly and Ju­lia Mar­ia Ford, and hus­band of Mi­ri­am Wea­ther­ly.

He at­tend­ed Here­ford Ca­thed­ral School and Brase­nose Col­lege, Ox­ford.

A judge, po­et, and law­yer, he is per­haps best re­mem­bered as the au­thor of se­cu­lar lyr­ics such as Dan­ny Boy, Ros­es of Pic­ar­dy, and Up from Som­er­set.
