Introduction

Biography

John was the son of John Gar­rett Wal­voord and Ma­ry Flipse, and hus­band of Ger­al­dine De­lor­es Lund­gren.

A theo­lo­gian and pas­tor, he was edu­cat­ed at Whea­ton Col­lege (AB, DD), Tex­as Chris­tian Uni­ver­si­ty (AM in phi­lo­so­phy), and Dall­as Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry (DTS) (ThB, ThM, and ThD in Sys­tem­a­tic Theo­lo­gy).

He was pre­si­dent of DTS for over three de­cades (1952–86).
