Died: March 18, 1817.

Biography

Walder learned to love music from his pas­tor in Wet­zi­kon, and lat­er stu­died com­po­si­tion.

His first me­lo­dies were pub­lished about 1775, and ap­peared in ma­ny col­lect­ions from 1779 on­ward.

Walder turned to po­li­tics in 1785. He served as Zü­rich can­ton’s Un­ter­vogt des Amt­es Grün­ing­er, then as Mit­glied des Re­gier­ungs­rats un­til 1806, Be­zirks­prä­si­dent un­til 1814, and fi­nal­ly as Ober­rich­ter.
