Von We­ber was ham­pered by a con­gen­i­tal hip prob­lem that gave him a per­ma­nent limp.

He be­gan mu­sic les­sons with his fa­ther at age three. He al­so had lessons from Mi­chael Hay­dn, and be­gan pub­lish­ing his own fu­ghet­tas at age 10. As he ma­tured, he be­gan writ­ing op­er­as, and tour­ing as a pi­a­nist in Ger­ma­ny.
