Introduction

Biography

Vansant was the son of Sam­uel Van Sant and Su­san­na Hays, and hus­band of Lot­tie Ger­trude John­son (mar­ried 1894, New York Ci­ty).

He came to Christ at age 12, and was called to preach at age 15.

He at­tend­ed the New Jer­sey State Mo­del School and Drew Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary, Ma­di­son, New Jer­sey.

He en­tered the Me­tho­dist New Jer­sey Con­fer­ence in 1884. He held num­er­ous ap­point­ments in New Jer­sey:

• Englishtown (1884–86)
• Cranbury (1887 & 1888)
• Moorestown (1889–92),
• Supernumerary in 1893

He held ad­di­tion­al New Jer­sey pas­tor­ates in:

• New Egypt (1894)
• Collingswood (1895, 1896)
• Sea Bright (1897–1900)
• Merchantville (1904, 1905)
• Central Church, Tren­ton (1904, 1905)
