Biography

Turner at­tend­ed Am­herst Col­lege, Mas­sa­chu­setts (bachelor’s 1874, DD 1905) and Un­ion Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, New York.

He then be­came a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter, serv­ing in Mas­sa­chu­setts and Con­nec­ti­cut. He was also chap­lain at the Hamp­ton Nor­mal and Ag­ri­cul­tur­al In­sti­tute, Vir­gin­ia (1892–1925).
