Educated at Charterhouse and other schools, Tritton was for over four decades a partner in the banking house of Barclay, Bevan, Tritton & Company, Lombard Street.
He was also for many years treasurer of the Baptist Foreign Missionary Society, and a number of other philanthropic and religious institutions.
