Biography

Bradford was the son of Sam­uel Tor­rey and So­phron­ia Dy­er.

After com­plet­ing his school­ing, he taught for two years, then en­tered the bu­si­ness world in Bos­ton, Mass­ac­hu­setts.

In 1886, he be­came an as­sist­ant ed­it­or of the Youth’s Com­pan­ion.
