Biography

A print­er by trade, Ter­ry was a Sun­day school su­per­in­ten­dent for three de­cades in Dew­sbury, York­shire, a sec­re­ta­ry of the Dews­bu­ry Sun­day School Un­ion, and served on the Nat­iona­l Sun­day School Un­ion coun­cil.

After re­tir­ing, Terry was sec­re­ta­ry of Tri­ni­ty Church in Pres­ta­tyn for two more dec­ades, and served on the Sun­day schools com­mit­tee of the Me­tho­dist New Con­nex­ion (1877–99). He was al­so trea­sur­er of the Young Peo­ple’s and Tem­per­ance De­part­ment of the Me­tho­dist New Con­nex­ion and the United Me­tho­dist Church, un­til 1919.
