We spe­cu­late this au­thor might be Sar­ah Ell­en Taylor (1884–1954), bu­ried in Mos­hass­uck Ce­me­te­ry, Cen­tral Falls, Rhode Is­land. This ce­me­te­ry is about four miles from Brown Un­i­ve­rs­ity, from which the au­thor gra­du­at­ed.

At age nine, Tay­lor came to Am­er­ica. In 1904, she gra­du­at­ed from Wo­men’s Col­lege, Brown Uni­ver­si­ty, Pro­vi­dence, Rhode Is­land.

In 1949, she re­tired af­ter near­ly a half cen­tu­ry of teach­ing, which in­cluded six years in mis­sion schools in Tal­la­de­ga, Ala­ba­ma, and Rich­mond, Virg­inia.
